LSF Bible/Catechism Study: Commandments 1-3
Wednesday, May 16 - 7 PM - Luther Memorial Chapel
This week we examine the account of the Rich Man and Lazarus, Luke 16:19-31. Who is God? Who was the god of the rich man? We'll begin looking at the Ten Commandments, particularly commandments 1-3. We'll also have a few quotes from the Large Catechism and look at Luther's catechism hymn "These Are the Holy Ten Commands" (LSB 581).
The LSF BIBLE/CATECHISM STUDY examines a portion of the Bible and its application to Luther's Small Catechism, to encourage Bible study and catechism review. We meet each Wednesday at 7 PM for Vespers at Luther Memorial Chapel and then move to the student center for the study.
Ascension Day: May 17
Divine Service - 6:30 PM - Luther Memorial Chapel
One of the most important (and most overlooked) festivals of the church is Ascension Day, 40 days after Easter when we remember Jesus' Ascension to heaven. We celebrate His presence for us at the right hand of Our Father, where He continually intercedes on our behalf. Join us as we celebrate this important feast day with the Divine Service this Thursday, May 17 at 6:30 P.M. An ice cream social will follow in the Parish Hall.
Summer Plans
If you'll be around for the summer, please join us for activities at Luther Memorial Chapel. Keep watching this blog or our group on www.facebook.com for more activities as they come up. Our regular activities include the Divine Service on Sunday at 9 and Monday at 7 PM; Matins on Tuesday at 9 AM.
